Aircraft crashes into Milestone School; Burn institute opens emergency hotline

A Bangladesh Air Force training plane crashed on the campus of Milestone School and College in Uttara at 1:18 pm, killing at least 19 persons and injuring 50 others. 

The injured, many in critical condition with burns, were rushed to various hospitals in the capital, including the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

Consequently, the National Burn Institute has opened an emergency hotline (0194904369) to assist with the crisis, as announced by the Chief Adviser's Press Wing on Monday.

According to eyewitnesses, the aircraft struck the school campus, damaging a classroom near the canteen. 

Shah Bulbul, the college’s Public Relations Officer, told The Daily Samakal that security forces have cordoned off the area, restricting access even to college authorities.

A video circulating on social media captured a plume of smoke rising from the crash site, with students and bystanders seen fleeing in panic.
