Pilot killed in Uttara plane crash

Flight Lieutenant Md. Toukir Islam died in the crash of an Air Force F-7 BJI training plane, as confirmed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). 

The aircraft took off at 1:06 pm and crashed at 1:18 pm on the Milestone School and College campus in Uttara.

Eyewitnesses reported the plane went down on the school grounds, resulting in 19 fatalities. 

Over 50 students sustained injuries and burns. 

Brigadier General Muhammad Zahed Kamal, Director General of the Fire Service and Civil Defense Department, stated at 4:30 pm that 19 bodies were recovered from the debris, with more than 50 injured individuals sent to hospitals for treatment.
