DUCSU elections on September 9

The Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and Hall Sangsad elections are scheduled for September 9.

Chief Returning Officer Professor Jasim Uddin made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon at the university's Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building conference room.

The draft voter list will be published on July 30, with objections accepted until 4 pm on August 6.

The final voter list will be released at 4 pm on August 11. Nomination papers will be distributed from August 12 to August 18, between 10 am and 4 pm daily, with submissions due by 3 pm on August 19.

Nomination paper selection will occur on August 20, followed by the primary candidate list publication at 1 pm on August 21. Candidates may withdraw by 1 pm on August 25, and the final candidate list will be published at 4 pm on August 26.

Voting will take place on September 9 from 8 am to 3 pm, with vote counting and result announcements completed the same day.

Hall Sangsad results will be announced at respective centers, while DUCSU results will be declared at the Senate Building’s Senate meeting room.

Professor Jasim emphasized that voting requires an identity card and pay slip.

For the first time, polling centers and hall-based voters are divided into six centers, as stated by Election Commissioner Professor Golam Rabbani. Students from Dr. Muhammad Shahidullah, Amar Ekushey, and Fazlul Haque Halls will vote at Curzon Hall.

Jagannath, Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haque, and Salimullah Muslim Hall students will vote at the Physical Education Center. Rokeya, Shamsun Nahar, and Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall students will vote at the Student-Teacher Center.

Bangladesh-Kuwait Friendship Hall and Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall students will vote at the Dhaka University Club Center. Sir A.F. Rahman, Haji Muhammad Mohsin, and Bijoy Ekattor Hall students will vote at the Senate Bhaban Center. Students from Master Da Surya Sen, Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and Kabi Jasim Uddin Halls will vote at the Udayan School and College Center.
