Sheikh Hasina-Joy-Putul's trial starts, arrest warrants issued

The Anti-Corruption Commission filed three cases over alleged irregularities in plot allocation under the Purbachal New Town project. Trials in the cases have started against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy and daughter Saima Wazed Putul. 

On Thursday,  Judge Abdullah Al Mamun of Dhaka Special Judge's Court-5 framed charges against them. As the accused are absent, arrest warrants were issued against them. 

Meanwhile, August 11 was fixed to take witness accounts, ACC Prosecutor Mir Ahmed Ali Salam confirmed.
