'36 July Celebration' begins at Manik Mia Avenue

The daylong event titled ‘36 July Celebration’ has begun at Manik Mia Avenue in Dhaka to mark the first anniversary of the July-August mass uprising to oust the Awami League government led by Sheikh Hasina.

A large number of people have arrived from different parts of the city to join in the celebrations.

Organised by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the event will include a reading of the historic July Declaration.

The programme started around 12:15 pm on Tuesday with a performance from the Islamic cultural group Saimum Shilpigosthi. Kalarab Shilpigosthi is scheduled to perform after them. Nahid Islam is expected to speak at the gathering, and Tashfi is scheduled to perform music afterwards. 

Chittagong Hip Hop Hood, Shezan and Shunno Band will perform. Then, 'Fascist's Fleeing Moment' will be celebrated.

Afterwards, the concert will start again where Shayan, Ethun Babu, Mousumi, Souls and Warfaze will perform. There will be a break for Asr prayers. 

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus will read out the historic 'July Declaration'. 

There will be performances by the Basic Guitar Learning School, F Minor, and Parsha. After a break for Maghrib prayers, Elita Karim will perform, and then a drone drama and a drone show will be held. Popular band Artcell will also perform music.
