DB takes Major Sadikul's wife Zafrin under custody

The Detective Branch (DB) of the police has taken a woman into their custody for her suspected link with being present in a secret meeting with the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in the capital.

Deputy Commissioner of DB of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed that Sumaiya Zafrin, wife of Major Sadikul Haque (who is now under military custody), was taken to the DB office on Wednesday evening.

Major Sadikul Haque is currently in military custody over his alleged involvement in a "secret meeting" of the banned student organisation Chhatra League, which took place on July 8 at a convention centre near the Bashundhara residential area. Police filed a case in this connection on July 13.
