Former BRU VC Dr Kalimullah arrested

The Detective Branch (DB) of police on Thursday arrested former vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Professor Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, from the capital's Mohammadpur thana area.

Professor Kalimullah was arrested from his Mohammadpur residence around 12:30pm in a corruption case, Deputy Commissioner of DB Muhammad Talebur Rahman told BSS.

The Anti-Corruption Commission in June last filed a case against five people, including former Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur vice-chancellor Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, on charges of embezzling Taka 4 crore from a development project through corruption.
