Draft updated voter list: 24 lakh 38 thousand new voters in country

The Election Commission (EC) has published the draft of the updated voter list ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliament election.

According to this list, there are 24,38,626 new voters in the country, making the total number of voters 12,61,70,900. 

EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed disclosed the information at a briefing at the Nirbachan Bhaban in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon. 

After the publication of the supplementary list, applications for inclusion of eligible names, deletion due to death or ineligibility, voter transfer, and correction of errors may be submitted by August 21. The final voter list, incorporating all updates, will be published on August 31.
