Govt revokes medals of 40 absconding police officers

The government has revoked the police medals of 40 absconding officers since August 5 last year. 

These officers include DIGs, police superintendents and police inspectors who are now absconding and temporarily suspended.

This information was given in a notification from the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Tausif Ahmed.

The notification said that the police medals awarded to 40 officers in 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022 have been revoked.

It also said that the financial benefits related to the medals have been stopped in favor of the police members who withdrew the medals and instructions have been given to return all the money received related to the medals previously.
