Bangladesh missions told to remove President's portrait

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has verbally directed Bangladesh Missions abroad to remove the portrait of President Mohammed Shahabuddin. 

Confirming the matter, a source at the ministry said 70 out of 80 missions had already removed the portrait. The others were directed to remove it recently. 

A ministry official said the Cabinet Division would be able to say more on this matter. 

Several missions said the directive was received on Friday evening.
