Heavy rain causes traffic woes in the capital

Heavy rain caused waterlogging in several areas of the capital on Sunday morning, leading to heavy traffic congestion on the roads. 

The tendency of drivers to take the wrong side of the roads clogged the roads even further. Members of the traffic police became helpless in the face of such chaos. 

"Usually, I'm in the office by 9am. Today it took me two hours to get from Mohammadpur to the office," said an official of LGED, the office of which is located in Agargaon. 

This correspondent found heavy traffic congestion from the Agargaon signal to Mirpur-10 at around 10:30am. Traffic on Airport road, Mirpur road, and Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue were moving at a snail's pace. The situation remained the same all morning.
