Eureka Filling Station catches fire at Mohakhali

A fire broke out at the Eureka Filling Station next to RAOWA (Retired Armed Forces Officers' Welfare Association) club in the capital's Mohakhali area. 

Several explosions were heard during fire origination.

Three units of the fire service reached the spot to control the blaze, said Rashed Bin Khaled, duty officer of the fire service and civil defence headquarters.

The headquarters' control room also reported that eight more units have left for the spot to tame the fire.

Eyewitnesses said, “Oil was being taken from an vehicle carrying oil. The fire started from there. Initially, the people at the pump tried to put out the fire, but the flame spread quickly.”
