Rainfall to increase from Wednesday

A depression over the Bay of Bengal has weakened and turned into a low-pressure area over India's Odisha coast. As a result of this low pressure, rainfall may increase in several regions, including Dhaka, and this weather may persist for several days. 

According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department's regular weather bulletin, the Depression over coastal Odisha and adjoining area moved northwestwards, weakened into a well-marked low on Tuesday and then into a low-pressure area over Chhattisgarh and adjoining area early on Wednesday. It is likely to move northwestwards further and weaken gradually.

Meteorologist Md Omar Faruk said rainfall may increase for at least the next three days. However, there is no possibility of incessant rain. 

A separate Marine Warning bulletin said that due to the active monsoon, deep convection is taking place over North Bay. Under its influence, stormy weather may affect maritime ports, the North Bay, and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh. All maritime ports have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal no three (R) three. 

All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
