Students of Dhaka College and City College clash, 10 injured

A clash occurred between the students of Dhaka College and City College in the capital's New Market area around 12:30 pm on Thursday, leaving 10 people injured in the incident.

Dhanmondi Zone Assistant Commissioner Shah Mohammad Tarikuzzaman said that firstly Dhaka College students chased City College students. Later, City College students chased Dhaka College students again. 

Ten people, including three students and five to seven policemen, were injured in the chase and counter-chase incident and they have been sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital for treatment, he added.

He also said that the situation was normal till 1:00 pm. 

Police are on alert on the spot to avert any further incident.

Locals said that there was a massive traffic jam on the road. Later, the police arrived and normalised traffic on the road.
