Signal 3 for maritime ports, one for river ports

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted stormy weather in the coastal areas, as well as five other regions. As a result, maritime ports were asked to hoist the local cautionary signal no. Three (R) three, while inland riverports of five regions were asked to hoist cautionary signal no. One (R) one. 

Due to the active monsoon, deep convection continues to form over the North Bay. Under its influence, gusty or squally weather may affect the maritime ports, the North Bay, and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, according to a marine warning issued by the BMD on Friday. 

Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal no. Three (R) three. 

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice. 

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary south or south easterly gusty or squally wind speed 45-60 kph is likely to occur over the regions of Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, and Cox's Bazar, said an inland riverport warning issued by the BMD, valid till 6pm on Friday.  

Riverports in these regions were asked to hoist cautionary signal no. One (R) one.
