Low-pressure area likely to form over Bay in 2 days

A low-pressure area is likely to form over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas during the next 48 hours, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has said. 

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely to occur at many places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may be seen at places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, the regular BMD weather forecast issued on Sunday said. 

Meanwhile, maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal no. three (R) three. 

Inland riverports in Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, and Cox's Bazar were advised to hoist cautionary signal no. one (R) one.
