DUCSU campaign kicks off

Formal campaigning for the upcoming Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) has kicked off on Tuesday (August 25). Campaigning will continue till September 7. 

Election Commission sources said candidates can continue campaigning at the campus and halls till 11pm. Meanwhile, campaigning in ladies' halls may continue from 10am to 10pm. 

Any candidate or panel participating in the election may not, until September 10, 2025, voluntarily participate in any type of service-oriented work centred on Dhaka University, distribute any kind of gift, host receptions, provide financial assistance, or engage in similar activities.

Meanwhile, recommendations have been made to cancel the nomination of two candidates, alleging connections with the banned political outfit Awami League and involvement with criminal activities. They are Md Julias Ceaser Talukder from the Criminology department and Bayezid Bostami from Political Science, both from the 2014-15 session.
