US envoy to meet CEC today

Charge d'Affaires of the United States Embassy in Dhaka, Ambassador Tracey Ann Jacobson, will meet Bangladesh Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A M M Nasir Uddin on Thursday. 

The meeting will be held at the CEC's office at around 2pm. 

This will be the first meeting between the Election Commission (EC) and Charge d'Affaires of the United States Embassy since the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, 2024. 

Preparations for the upcoming national election and security centring on the same is likely to be on the agenda.
