No plausible solution to Rohingya issue a deep predicament for Bangladesh: Touhid

The lack of a plausible solution to the Rohingya issue is a deep predicament for Bangladesh, the Interim Government's Foreign Affairs Adviser, Md. Touhid Hossain has said.

"With time, the problem becomes worse. The number of children and youth among the refugee Rohingyas has increased exponentially. The next generation is growing up. They will no longer want to live as refugees in the camps. It is a big question whether they will be content with the existing system. This problem is going to become so big that it will affect the entire region and the globe, not only Bangladesh," he said. 

He made the remarks while delivering the chief guest's speech at the Bengal Delta Conference 2025 on Friday.

The Bengal Delta Conference 2025, organised by Dacca Institution of Research and Analytics (DAIRA), has brought together regional and international experts to discuss the future of South Asia against the backdrop of climate change, shifting geopolitical alignments and economic challenges. 

The conference features sessions on governance, sustainable development and the role of youth in shaping inclusive politics.
