Nur shifted from ICU to cabin

Gono Odhikar Parishad president and former DUCSU VP Nurul Haque Nur was shifted from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to a cabin of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) as his physical condition improved on Monday. 

DMCH Director Brigadier General Md. Asaduzzaman informed the media that while Nur's condition is better than before, the broken bones of his nose and jaw will take around 4-6 weeks to fully heal. 

Citing the doctors, the director said Nur is now able to eat solid food. 

Earlier the same day, Shipping Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) Dr M Sakhawat Hossain visited Nur. 

Nurul Haque Nur was injured in a clash between the leaders and activists of Jatiya Party and Gono Odhikar Parishad, in front of the former's central office in the capital's Kakrail on Friday (August 29).

At least six people, including Nur and Odhikar Parishad General Secretary Rashed Khan, were hospitalised for injuries during the incident that occurred between 6:15pm and 7:30pm. Jatiya Party claimed several of its leaders were injured.
