Brent Christensen tapped as next US envoy to Bangladesh

US President Donald Trump has nominated Brent Christensen as the next Ambassador to Bangladesh. 

"Brent Christensen, of Virginia, a Career Member of the Senior Foreign Service, Class of Counselor, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh," according to an announcement made on the White House website on Tuesday. 

Christensen previously served as Counselor for Political and Economic Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from 2019 to 2021. 

The appointment is subject to the Senate's approval.
