PSC question leak case filed, suspect arrested

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police has apprehended a key figure in the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) Thana Assistant Education Officer exam question leak syndicate. 

Matiur Rahman was arrested by the CID’s cyber unit on Tuesday. 

CID Additional DIG Zahidul Islam shared details during a press conference at the CID headquarters in Malibagh, Dhaka, on Wednesday.

According to Zahidul Islam, Matiur Rahman illicitly collected significant sums through mobile banking and distributed exam questions as "suggestions" via social media. 

He allegedly defrauded numerous individuals by collecting payments through mobile banking. 

The CID’s Cyber Police Center has gathered evidence and statements confirming these activities. 

Zahidul Islam further revealed that those who paid received the questions either through their inbox or via courier. 

By tracking a Facebook advertisement, the CID traced the page admin’s number using information technology, leading to Rahman’s arrest in Jamalpur district. 

Analysis of the collected data confirmed his involvement in the scheme.

A case has been filed against Matiur Rahman with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, with PSC Assistant Director Sukar Anjan Samajdar as the plaintiff. 

Rahman was presented in court on Wednesday.
