August 21 grenade attack: Tarique, Babar and all accused acquitted on appeal

The Appellate Division has upheld the High Court's verdict acquitting all the accused, including BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman and former state minister for home affairs Lutfuzzaman Babar, in the August 21 grenade attack case.

The six-member Appellate Division, led by Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed, dismissed the appeal filed by the state against the High Court's verdict and delivered the verdict on Thursday morning.

The verdict was given with observations subject to correction and withdrawal of some parts of the High Court's verdict.
