Case filed against 3,500 for attack on police at Nural Pagla's shrine

Police have filed a case in connection with an attack on police, obstructing authority, and damaging state properties at 'Nura Pagla's shrine at Goalondo in Rajbari. Around 3,000 to 3,500 unnamed people were accused in the case. 

Goalondo Ghat Police Station SI Md Selim Molla filed the case early on Saturday. 

According to police, a mob under the banner of "Iman Akida Rokkha Committee' marched towards Nurul Haque alias Nura Pagla's shrine. Local administration and police tried to stop them. However, the mob continued on their way and vandalised Goalondo Nirbahi Officer's car, Addl Police Super's car, and OC's car. They also injured five, including police and local administration. They then broke into Nural Pagla's shrine and caused vandalism and arson. At one point, they desecrated the man's grave and torched his body. 

Confirming the matter, Goalondo Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Rakibul Islam said the perpetrator will be arrested after analysing CCTV footage and other data.
