DUCSU Election: Shadiq of Shibir elected VP, Farhad GS

Shadiq Kayem of Chhatra Shibir has been elected as VP by getting 14,042 votes in the Dhaka University Central Student Union (DUCSU) election.
His nearest rival, Abidul Islam Khan of Chhatra Dal, got 5,708 votes while independent candidate Umama Fatema got 3,389 votes for the VP post.
Another independent candidate, Shamim Hossain, got 3,884 votes.
This information was revealed from the final results announced by the Election Commission at the Dhaka University Senate Building around 8:30 am on Wednesday.
The Election Commission further said that Chhatra Shibir leader SM Farhad was elected as GS by getting 10,794 votes while his nearest rival, Chhatra Dal leader Tanvir Bari Hamim, got 5,283 votes.
In addition, Meghmallar Basu got 4,949 votes.
In addition, Chhatra Shibir leader Mohiuddin Khan was elected as AGS with 11,772 votes. Chhatra Dal's AGS candidate Tanvir Al Hadi received 5,064 votes.
The results were announced by Chief Returning Officer Professor Mohammad Jasim Uddin.
This time there were 471 candidates for 28 posts in DUCSU. And elections were held for 13 posts in 18 Hall Sangsad. There were 1,035 candidates for 234 posts in Hall Sangsad.
The total number of voters in DUCSU this time was 39,874. Of these, 18,959 were female and 20,915 were male.
