JUCSU vote to be counted manually: CEC

Vote counting in the Jahangirnagar University Central Students' Union (JUCSU) and hall union elections will be done manually. 

JUCSU polls Chief Election Commissioner Prof Moniruzzaman made the announcement through a notification on Thursday. 

Earlier, it was said that special Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) machines would be used for the purpose. 

Voting will take place uninterruptedly from 9 am to 5 pm across 21 centres with 224 booths in 11 male and 10 female residential halls. 

According to university sources, 11,919 students are eligible to vote, while 178 candidates are vying for 25 JUCSU posts.
