RUCSU election campaign begins

Campaigning for the Rajshahi University Central Students' Union (RUCSU), Hall Councils, and Student Representatives polls started on Monday (September 15), and it will continue till 9am on September 24. 

As per the electoral code of conduct, campaigning may continue from 10am to 10pm. However, only candidates and voters can carry out campaigning in the university campus. 

Some additions to the electoral code of conduct will be finalised by Monday, RUCSU Chief Election Commissioner Prof F Nazrul Islam said. 

The RUCSU election marks a historic return to student representation at Rajshahi University after a 35-year hiatus.

As per the revised election schedule, nomination papers were distributed until September 3, and submissions were received from September 4 to 7. Scrutiny took place on September 8 and 9.

The preliminary list of candidates was published on September 10, with objections reviewed and disposed of on September 11. September 13 (Saturday) was the last date for withdrawal of nominations, and the final list of candidates was published on September 14 (Sunday).

Polling will be held in the university's academic buildings from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on September 25.
