Ekushey Book Fair to begin December 17 this year

Although the Amar Ekushey Book Fair is traditionally held in February every year, this year it is starting on December 17 and will continue until January 17, 2026.

Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Md. Mofidur Rahman confirmed the date of the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026 to Daily Samakal.

The decision was taken in view of the upcoming national parliamentary elections and the holy month of Ramadan.

Cultural Affairs Secretary Md Mofidur Rahman presided over the meeting, which was attended by Bangla Academy Director General Professor Mohammad Azam and representatives of the Bangladesh Publishers and Booksellers Association.
