Govt approves procurement of EPI vaccine

The Advisers Council Committee on Economic Affairs (ACCEA) on Sunday approved in principle the procurement of Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) vaccines from GAVI through UNICEF under the Direct Procurement Method (DPM).

The approval was given in the 30th meeting of the ACCEA held at the Cabinet Division in the capital, with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed in the chair.

Briefing reporters after the meeting, Salehuddin said the meeting has approved the proposal to procure the vaccines under DPM for three months of the fiscal year 2025-26.

"Now, we approved it for three months under DPM. Later, we will try to procure under competitive bidding," he added.
