Hajj packages likely to be announced today

The price of airfare was brought down slightly through negotiation, reducing expenses as a result. 

Three hajj packages, as well as a private package, will be announced by the government. No agency can offer prices below the rate fixed by the government. 

Last year, the cost for Standard Hajj Package-1 was set at Tk 4,78,242, and Standard Hajj Package-2 was priced at Tk 5,75,680. In the private sector, the Hajj package was priced at Tk 4,83,156. 

As per sources at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, a meeting in this regard will be held today (Sunday), headed by Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain. If approved, the packages may be announced the same day.

Meanwhile, the airfare may be reduced by Tk 8-10 thousand. The religious affairs ministry and the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism have discussed the matter and came to a conclusion. 

The Hajj is expected to be held in May next year. A total of 127,198 pilgrims will get the opportunity to join Hajj this year.
