Heavy rainfall likely in 3 divisions

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in three divisions of the country on Saturday and Sunday. 

"Due to active monsoon, heavy (44-88mm/24hrs) to very heavy (>88mm/24hrs) is likely to occur at places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Mymensingh divisions during the next 48 hours," read a bulletin issued by the BMD on Saturday morning. 

Meanwhile, light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely to occur at many places across the country on Saturday. 

"Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at many places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions and at many places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions," according to the regular BMD bulletin issued this morning. 

On Friday, the highest temperature recorded was 33.5 degrees Celsius in Feni and Kutubdia stations, while the lowest temperature was 24 degrees Celsius in Tangail station.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 5:44 pm on Saturday and will rise at 5:52 am on Sunday.
