Fire breaks out at RMG factory, warehouse in Mirpur

A massive fire broke out at an RMG factory and a chemical warehouse next to each other at Rupnagar Shialbari area in the capital's Mirpur on Tuesday. 

Seven units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) are working to bring the blaze under control, FSCD Media Cell Official Talha Bin Jasim has said. 

One more firefighting unit is on its way to the spot, he said. 

The fire broke out at around 11:40am, the FSCD said. The RMG factory is seven-storied, and the fire started on the fourth floor. Talha Bin Jasim said the fire at the RMG factory is almost all the way doused. However, they are still battling the chemical warehouse fire.  

The origin of the fire and the extent of damage could not be ascertained immediately.
