Rupnagar fire continues to burn for 23 hours

The fire that broke out at a chemical warehouse in the Rupnagar Shialbari area of Dhaka's Mirpur continues even after 23 hours. The fire started at around 11:40am Tuesday. Smoke was seen coming out of the warehouse at 10:30am on Wednesday. 

Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) Medica Cell Official Talha Bin Jasim told the Daily Samakal that firefighters continue to work, but it cannot be said for certain when the blaze will be doused. 

Meanwhile, the fire at the RMG factory opposite the warehouse was doused on Tuesday. 16 bodies were recovered from the four-storey building. Their identities could not be confirmed, 

The bodies were sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue. According to the authority, their identity can only be confirmed after a DNA test.
