BUET expert team visits Mirpur fire site

A chemical expert team from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), led by Professor Dr Md Easir Arafat Khan of the Department of Chemical Engineering, visited the fire site in Mirpur on Wednesday. 

During the visit, they collected samples from the spot, said media officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD), Talha Bin Jasim. 

The team will submit a report to the fire service, he said.

At least 16 people were killed in the fire that erupted in an RMG factory and a chemical warehouse in Sialbari, Rupnagar, in Mirpur on Tuesday. The bodies were sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
