1 killed in clash at Mohammadpur Geneva Camp

A crude bomb exploded during a clash between two parties and killed a man in the Geneva Camp at the capital's Mohammadpur early on Thursday. 

Confirming the matter, Mohammadpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kazi Md Rafiq Ahmed said police went to the spot at around 3:40am and brought the situation under control. 

The deceased was identified as Md Jahid, 20. According to his family, Jahid went out of the house when a clash was ongoing between two parties at Geneva Camp. A cocktail or crude bomb hit his head, fatally injuring him. 

Jahid was first brought to the Trauma Centre hospital and later brought to the emergency department in the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). The duty doctor declared him dead at around 4:30am. 

According to family and locals, Jahid was a resident at the Geneva Camp. He used to work at a mobile servicing shop in the capital's Kalyanpur. 

DMCH Police outpost in charge Inspector Md Faruq said, the body is kept at the morgue for autopsy.
