Depression may turn into cyclone

A depression over the Bay of Bengal may turn into a cyclone, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has said in a special weather bulletin. 

"The depression over southeast Bay and adjoining areas has moved west-northwestwards; now lies over the same area," reads the bulletin. 

"It is likely to move west-northwestwards further and intensify into a cyclonic storm," it adds. 

Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted distant cautionary signal no one (R) one. 

According to the regular weather bulletin, the weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country, having chances of rain at one or two places over the Chattogram division. 

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
