Metro rail services temporarily suspended

Metro rail service was temporarily suspended today for passengers' safety following a technical issue at the Farmgate area.

The service was halted at noon after a technical problem in the station area, said an official.

A team was immediately dispatched to inspect the train line and other technical equipment. Metro rail services will resume as soon as the fault is repaired.

A pedestrian died in the Farmgate area of the capital when a 'heavy metallic object' fell from a Metro Rail pillar in front of the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh at around noon.
