Rain, thunder showers likely in Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast that rain or thunder showers are likely to occur at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions on Monday.

"Rain or thunder showers are likely to occur at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions," according to a bulletin issued by the BMD this morning.

It said the weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country. 

Day temperatures may fall slightly, and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it is also predicted.

Besides, the deep depression over Southeast Bay and adjoining area moved west-northwestwards and intensified into a cyclonic storm "Montha" over southwest Bay and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal at 3am on Monday, the BMD said. 

It is likely to move west-northwestwards further and intensify further, and may cross the coast of India's Andhra Pradesh by Tuesday evening or night. 

The Met Office further said that its associated trough extends up to North Bay. 

On Sunday, the highest temperature was recorded at 36.0 degrees Celsius in Ambagan under Chattogram, while the lowest temperature on Monday was recorded at 22.1 degrees Celsius in Tetulia.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 5:23 pm on Monday and will rise at 6:02 am on Tuesday.
