Bus set ablaze in front of LabAid Hospital in Dhanmondi

Miscreants torched a bus belonging to Shanto Mariam University while it was stopped at a traffic signal in front of LabAid Hospital in the capital's Dhanmondi area on Monday evening.

No casualties were reported so far.

According to police, the incident occurred around 7:30 pm. Two fire service units from Mohammadpur station rushed to the scene and are working to extinguish the blaze.

Duty Officer Khaleda Yasmin of the Fire Service control room confirmed that the bus was from Shanto Mariam University and that efforts to control the fire are ongoing.

DMP Dhanmondi Zone Assistant Commissioner Shah Mohammad Tarikuzzaman stated that the bus was carrying private university students at the time of arson attack.
