Bus set on fire in Mymensingh, sleeping bus driver burnt to death

Miscreants set a bus on fire in Mymensingh's Fulbaria upazila.
The incident took place at around 3 am on Monday night.
The deceased Md. Julhas's home is in Bhalukjan village of Fulbaria upazila.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Fulbaria police station Rokunuzzaman said that the Alam Asia Paribahan bus, which had left Dhaka, was parked near the Bhalukjan petrol pump. As it was late at night, the driver Julhas, a female passenger and her son were waiting for dawn inside the bus.
The OC said, "While the bus was parked, a group of miscreants suddenly came and set the bus on fire."
The intensity of the fire was so high that the sleeping driver Julhas did not get a chance to get out quickly and died on the spot.
However, the female passenger and her son inside the bus were able to escape by breaking the window quickly, the police official said.
Upon receiving the news of the fire, Fulbaria police and fire service members reached the spot and after a long effort, they brought the fire under control and later recovered the burnt body of the driver Julhas from inside the bus.
OC Rokunuzzaman further said that a police operation has been launched to identify and arrest those involved since the incident.
The criminals will be brought to justice soon, he added.
