Three more buses set on fire in the capital

Three more buses were torched in Dhaka's Rayerbagh, Jatrabari, and Uttara areas late Monday night and early Tuesday morning, with no injuries reported.

This follows two bus arsons on Monday morning and one in the evening.

According to Fire Service Control Room Officer Md. Shahjahan, a Rajdhani Paribahan bus was set ablaze in Rayerbagh around 1:45 am Tuesday.

A Raida Paribahan bus was targeted in Jatrabari shortly after 2 am, followed by another bus at Uttara's Janpath intersection at 4 am.

All vehicles were parked at the time.

Firefighters responded promptly to extinguish the blazes.

Separately, at least 10 cocktail explosions occurred across the capital on Monday morning and evening, alongside the three earlier bus fires, heightening public alarm.

In a related development, 28-year-old motorcyclist Md. Masudur Rahman was injured while fleeing after allegedly exploding cocktails. He was subsequently handed over to police.

Masudur Rahman, son of Md. Rezaul Karim from Kazsha Union under Shibaloy Police Station in Manikganj, resides at 126/127 South Banasree G Block in Rampura, Dhaka.

Officers from Ramna Police Station found him injured, transported him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital's emergency department for treatment, and admitted him to ward no. 4, where he remains under care.
