Chamber court suspends bail for Ivy in multiple July uprising-cases

The Appellate Division Chamber Court has revoked the bail previously approved by the High Court for former Narayanganj City Corporation Mayor Dr. Selina Hayat Ivy, affecting five ongoing cases tied to the July uprising. 

These charges encompass murder, attempted murder, and interference with police duties.

Chamber Justice Md. Rezaul Haque granted the state's request for suspension on Wednesday, while scheduling a full bench review by the Appellate Division for November 17.

Representing the state was Additional Attorney General Barrister Anik R. Haque. Dr. Ivy's defense was argued by Barrister Sara Hossain and attorney Motahar Hossain Saju.

The High Court had initially approved Ivy's bail on November 9, prompting the state to seek an immediate halt to that decision. 

Ivy herself was taken into custody from her residence on May 9.
