Bus set on fire at Dholaipar

A bus was set ablaze in the Dholaipar area of the capital on Wednesday evening.

Upon receiving the report, two units from the Fire Service's Postogola station rushed to the spot and doused the flames.

Duty Officer Rozina Akhter of the Fire Service Central Control Room informed Daily Samakal that a call came in at 6:36 pm about a bus on fire in Dholaipar. 

Firefighters arrived promptly, though the cause of the blaze remains unknown at this time.

Earlier, vehicles caught fire in at least three other locations across the capital.

 Police attributed the incidents involving a police pickup in Ramna and a microbus in Uttara to 'mechanical faults'. 

The cause of the bus fire in Mirpur's Shah Ali area could not be determined.

Additionally, an Ansar member was injured in a cocktail explosion at the entrance of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport late Tuesday night.

 That same night, two petrol bombs were hurled at a preparatory school in Mohammadpur. 

On Wednesday afternoon, miscreants torched a bus in front of Sony Cinema Hall in Mirpur.
