Case filed after body found in drum, friend named primary accused

A case was filed after a dismembered body was found in a drum in Dhaka. A friend of the deceased was named as the primary accused in the case filed at the Shahbagh Police Station. 

Anjina Begum, a sister of the deceased Ashraful Haque, filed the case on Friday morning. Ashraf's friend Jorej was named the primary accused. 

Shahbagh Police Station Officer in Charge Khalid Monsur said, Anjina Begum filed a case in the incident where her brother, businessman Ashraful Haque, whose body was found in 26 pieces inside a drum. No one has been arrested yet, he added. 

The dismembered body was found in a blue drum near the Eidgah grounds gate adjacent to the High Court on Thursday evening. Police identified the deceased as Ashraful Haque, 42, after fingerprint analysis. 

Family members of Ashraful came to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue on Friday morning to receive the body. They said Ashraful came to Dhaka three days ago with his friend Jorej. After that, he could no longer be contacted on his mobile phone. 

Ramna Zone Police DC Masud Alam earlier told the Daily Samakal that Ashraful came to Dhaka on Tuesday. He last contacted his family at around 9pm on Wednesday. He used to import onions and potatoes from India and Myanmar. He has a government license for import.
