Khalilur- Ajit Doval meeting held in New Delhi

A high-level bilateral meeting took place in India's capital, New Delhi, between Bangladesh's National Security Adviser, Dr. Khalilur Rahman, and his Indian counterpart, Ajit Doval. 

The discussions aimed to strengthen security cooperation between the two nations.

According to a press release issued by the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi on Wednesday, Dr. Rahman extended a formal invitation to Mr. Doval to visit Dhaka at his earliest convenience. 

This gesture underscores the ongoing diplomatic engagement between Bangladesh and India amid regional security challenges.

Dr. Rahman's visit to India is part of a broader delegation attending the National Security Adviser (NSA)-level meeting of the 7th Colombo Security Conclave (CSC), a multilateral forum focused on countering terrorism, cyber threats, and other transnational issues in the Indian Ocean region. 

The courtesy call and substantive talks with Mr. Doval were scheduled alongside these conclave proceedings.

This meeting marks the second official visit to India by an adviser from Bangladesh's interim government since August 5, 2024. 

Earlier this year, in February, Energy Adviser Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan travelled to New Delhi to participate in the India Energy Week, highlighting continued bilateral ties in energy and security domains.

The Colombo Security Conclave, involving India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives, provides a key platform for collaborative efforts on shared regional concerns.
