13th national elections on February 12

The 13th national elections and referendum will be held on February 12.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin announced the election schedule in his address to the nation on Thursday evening.

According to the announced schedule, the last date for filing nominations is December 29. Scrutiny of nominations will take place from December 30 to January 4. Candidates or their representatives can file objections against the Returning Officer’s decisions on selection by January 11, and these objections will be disposed of between January 12 and January 18.

The last date for withdrawal of candidacy is January 20. The final list of valid candidates will be published and electoral symbols allotted on January 21.

Election campaigning will run from January 22 until 7:30 am on February 10, which is 48 hours before polling begins.

Voting will take place from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm on Thursday, February 12.
