Senator Arefeen Raafi Ahmed elected president of JCI Bangladesh

Arefin Rafi Ahmed has been elected as the new National President of JCI Bangladesh for the year 2026. 

The election was held on Friday at Hotel Radisson in the capital, where voting took place throughout the day in a festive and democratic atmosphere, said a press release.

The results were announced in the evening.

In this year’s election, two prominent and active leaders of the organisation contested for the position of National President. 

After a full day of voting and counting, Arefin Rafi Ahmed emerged victorious by a large margin, securing the mandate to lead JCI Bangladesh in 2026.

Presidents of local organisations across the country, voting delegates, and National Governing Body Members participated in the election. 

The strong presence, enthusiasm, and active participation of voters made this election a notable example of democratic practice within the organisation.

Observers believe that Arefeen Raafi Ahmed’s long-standing leadership at the grassroots level, his commitment to working closely with members, and his strong relationships with local organisations played a significant role in building broad-based support in his favour.

Reacting after his victory, the newly elected National President Arefeen Raafi Ahmed said, “This victory is not mine alone. It is a collective success of every member of JCI Bangladesh, every local organisation, and everyone who believed in me. Your love and support have made me even more responsible and determined.”

He further added, “I firmly believe that together we will be able to build a stronger, more united, and more impactful JCI Bangladesh in 2026.”

In the election, Shan Shahed was elected as Deputy National President.

The elected Executive Vice Presidents are Abu Farhan, Khandaker Naimul Hasan, and Al Shahriar.

The newly elected National Vice Presidents are A.F.M. Fahmidur Rahman, Farahnaz Firoz, Md. Tasdikh Habib, Khandaker Nasif Akhtar, Abed Ahsan Sagar, Md. Golam Sarwar Chowdhury, Md. Redowanul Islam, Md. Shahriar Imran, S. M. Abidur Rahman, Md. Waliur Rahman Khan, Nakibul Haque, and Toufik Hasan.

The newly elected board will serve JCI Bangladesh for the year 2026.
