Bullets, magazines recovered from near Faisal's sister's house in Agargaon

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has made significant recoveries in the ongoing investigation into the December 12, 2025, shooting of Sharif Osman Hadi, convener of Inqilab Mancha and an independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency.

In a raid conducted at an open space near the residence of prime suspect Faisal Karim Masud's sister in Colonel Goli, Agargaon, Dhaka, RAB recovered two loaded magazines containing 11 rounds of ammunition, along with a knife. Additional items seized from the sister's house included a tablet, an android phone, an old button phone, two national identity cards, 15 cheque books from various banks, six passports, and 38 cheques.

CCTV footage reviewed by authorities showed that on the day of the attack, associate Alamgir left the house on a motorcycle around 11 am. Later, around 4 pm, Faisal, Alamgir, Faisal's mother, and niece were seen removing items from the vacant space between two adjacent buildings. By 4:20 pm, Faisal and Alamgir departed in a CNG auto-rickshaw.

Separately, in Narsingdi district, RAB-11 recovered weapons believed to have been used in the attack from Taruar Bill, a water body in front of a house in the Taruar area under Sadar Police Station. The raid was based on information provided by Wahid Ahmed (Shipu), Faisal's brother-in-law, whose home is in the area (also Faisal's in-laws' house). Recovered items included two foreign pistols, two magazines, one toy pistol, and 41 rounds of ammunition. A 25-year-old individual named Faisal was arrested during this operation.

Shamsul Islam, Senior Assistant Director of RAB-2's Media Wing, confirmed the Agargaon recoveries in a press release issued on Tuesday night (December 16).

Hadi was shot in the head by assailants on a motorcycle while traveling in a rickshaw on Box Culvert Road in Purana Paltan, Dhaka, around 2:24 p.m. on December 12—the day after the national election schedule was announced. He was campaigning at the time and remains in critical condition, currently receiving advanced treatment in Singapore.
