Inqilab Mancha blocks Shahbagh demanding justice for Hadi's murder

Activists from Inqilab Mancha blocked the Shahbagh intersection in Dhaka on Friday, December 26, 2025, to demand a swift and fair trial for the killing of their spokesperson, Sharif Osman Hadi.

Following Jumma prayers, leaders and supporters marched in a procession from the Dhaka University Central Mosque and occupied the key junction, halting traffic in the area.

Protesters chanted slogans such as "Naraye Takbir, Allahu Akbar," "Delhi na Dhaka, Dhaka Dhaka".

Inqilab Mancha Member Secretary Abdullah Al Jaber announced that the blockade would persist until justice is delivered in Hadi's murder case.

He stated that protesters were prepared to remain overnight at the site if required and declared the area "Shaheed Osman Hadi Chattar."

Sharif Osman Hadi was shot in the head by unknown assailants while campaigning in Dhaka's Paltan area on December 12, 2025. He received initial treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and was later transferred to Evercare Hospital. On December 15, he was airlifted to Singapore for advanced care but succumbed to his injuries at Singapore General Hospital on December 18.
