70 percent of voters interested in voting for BNP in the elections

A recent public opinion survey conducted by Eminence Associates for Social Development (EASD) reveals strong support for the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) ahead of the 2026 national elections, with around 70 percent of voters expressing interest or intention to vote for the party. 

In comparison, 19 percent favour Jamaat-e-Islami, while the new National Citizen Party (NCP) garners 2.6 percent support, the Jatiya Party 1.4 percent, and independent candidates just 0.1 percent.

The survey, presented on Monday afternoon at the Krishibid Institution seminar hall by EASD Chief Executive Officer Dr. Shamim Haider Talukder, gathered opinions from 20,495 respondents across all 300 parliamentary constituencies.

Gender analysis highlights BNP's appeal among female voters, with 71 percent of women surveyed indicating support, signalling significant trust in the party. 

Regionally, BNP dominates in Chattogram and Rajshahi divisions with 74 percent support each, though Jamaat-e-Islami shows strength in Barishal (29 percent) and Khulna (25 percent). 

The Jatiya Party performs relatively better in Rangpur, North Bengal, at 5.2 percent.

Additionally, 77 percent of respondents believe BNP will form the next government, and 74 percent expect a BNP candidate to win in their constituency.

The survey also sheds light on shifting preferences among former Awami League voters, with 60 percent now leaning toward BNP, 25 percent toward Jamaat-e-Islami, and 15 percent toward other parties.
